  1. This is a great news!

I wonder if the lighting effect for the eyes and GN drive is from new LED unit, or just photoshop...

And I wonder will this come with Repair II as well? Fingers crossed..

    1. Hmm after taking a closer look, I noticed quite a few parts which I don't think are removable are changed.. for example, the chest, cockpit hatch, and hip guard ? So I am wondering if this will be released as a standalone figure or a parts pack..

    2. I have the Metal Build Exia and its just a nice bright green paint that does that.

    3. I see what you mean, however mine doesn't stand out that well. From the picture it seems the 'red' eye is shining out a bit and onto part of the nose/face piece, and the GN drive clear part seems to glow from internal lighting..

But it could just be Bandai's lighting trick like you said :P

  2. I think Bandai still has faith in Gundam 00. I mean why else would they be putting out Metal Build figures if they didn't think 00 would sell?

I suspect that a MG Exia R2 w/ R3 conversion pieces will pop up next. I'd probably have to get 2x of that set.

    1. Here we go, charles. One more time. Repeat after me. I know you can! "Bandai RD division as nothing to do with Bandai Hobby Division." Ok? Can you repeat that? Is that so hard of a concept to grasp? I don't think it is. I want to believe even you can grasp that.

    2. Lol, I knew you'd show up suiton! If you're so desperate for a 1/100 Exia R2 it's not like you don't have options:
      1) Buy Metal Build Exia and paint R3 parts white.
      2) Buy resin parts for MG Exia

    3. If you're just after the box suiton, I can photoshop a pretty convincing MG Exia R2 cover haha!

    4. Err.. I'm not sure why the doubt in the first place, but I feel it is very unlikely Bandai will abandon 00 or Age. I think they are just playing a waiting game.

Personally I would love to see more enemy or general units from 00 and Age. I love their mechanical designs (including ships).

    5. Oh I'm sure we'll get more 00 kits in the future, maybe 10th anniversary like Seed. Just not right now. Age and Unicorn are the new hotness and Bandai probably doesn't want competing series flooding the market.

    6. Metal build figures department and Bandai's model kit division have nothing to do with each other. Can't you get that through your greasy head? I suspect that you are retarded.

      Delete
    7. Suiton listen to Anon @ 5:41.
Model kit production has NOTHING to do with the production of robot damashii or metal build. They are different departments that make separate decisions.

    10. Why are you even mentioning Master Grades on a Metal Build series post? Can't you write an intelligent, coherent post without ever typing the "M" and "G" keys?

    11. Can we please keep the discussion to the subject itself? Surely you are here because you have something to share with us regarding this news?

I think it is fine to have different view, but having to personal attack is going a bit too far. I don't know what happen between you guys, but please take it somewhere else. I like to see this is a place where gundam model lovers could exchange thoughts and opinion, but mos importantly has to respect each other, and act accordingly.

This blog moderator should clarify what is tolerable and do something about it. And I think we could all start by not commenting anonymously.

  5. Each Metal Build is produced perfectly. But before packing, Bandai's stuff read a compilation of Suiton's posts and vent their angers on each Metal Build, giving that flawless damaged look.

  6. Read the blog post.

The new MB OO Raiser has differences from the original MB OO Seven Swords, namely there is more part separation in the head plus more added details all over the body. The colors have been changed and so have the clear green GN parts, making more in like with the MB Exia. The O Raiser also has improvements, making docking with the OO Gundam more stable.

It is an upgrade to the MG OO Seven Swords Body + Web Limited O Raiser.

Big note: There is NO PLAN to re-release the MB OO Raiser whatsoever after this. If you want it, ORDER IT NOW.

Metal Build OO Seven Swords might get a re-release. And it looks like they're constantly innovating the Metal Build line with each release. Looking at their designs, they're going from statue like sculpts to more Gunpla like engineering.

  7. I'd like to have faith that newer 00 Raiser addresses qc issues such as weak joints: waist, chest, shoulders, wrists. If they announced improvements rather than a few cosmetic changes I'd probably get it. On topic, MB R1 looks quite nice and I'll probably get it.

I think the best solution is to stop posting with anonymous and name/url identity completely.. It shouldn't be too hard, and would make it easier to identify good and misbehave posters. And overall should do this Blog good.

It would be pointless to read the comments if postings are mostly non-relevant. Good social interaction here would brings more business opportunities, don't you think so ? ;)

(Sorry had to delete my earlier posting, forgot to address it to Patrick Grade :P)

  19. I just saw some news on Cybergundam about this figure (http://blog.yahoo.com/cybergundam/articles/1232219/index).

    Specifically this line:
    ●リペアII再現用ボーナスパーツ付属
    別商品のMETAL BUILD「ガンダムエクシア&エクシアリペアIII」と組み合わせることで「リペアII」を再現できるボーナスパーツが付属!

It seems to recreate the "Repair II" form, you need to purchase the first Exia and Repair III pack too.

How do you guys feel about this?

    1. Dafuq?! Well then, unless this guy pops up for around/under $100 its no sale from me T_T. Guess I'll be waiting for a RG or MG 3.0 Exia..

    2. That's weird. Looking at the pictures...
The butt skirt is off the Repair III, look at the decal.

What I'm worried about is this is primarily the Exia Repair I and I have never been able to take the arms off my Metal Builds. Clearly the Left Arm has to be taken off for the Cloak but you need to add the arm for Repair II.

It comes with these parts for Repair II
      Shoulders
      Elbow
      Shins
      GN Sword set

Instead, I think they are including Repair II parts for Metal Build Exia and RIII. Look at the chest of the Repair I. It has a cracked orb and a different cockpit cover and I am looking at my RIII right now and I cannot see a way to remove those to swap them out. I

      Delete
    3. I'm seeing and thinking the same thing you are, but for 13800 yen, it's going to be a complete figure. I don't know how they made the left arm and chest orb removable, but they figured out a way. We won't know till this comes out.

It's impossible for Bandai to sell a bunch of parts for 13800 yen then expect the people to spend another 13800 or so yen for the figure to make it all work.

I love if there was just an addon pack of parts for the MB Exia. There's no way I'm spending another giant sum on another Exia, as much as I would want to.

      Delete
    4. Believe it or not, that's what the blog post says and that's from official info. The bonus parts attach to the Metal Build Exia Repair III to recreate Exia Repair II. It'll be a complete figure of Exia Repair I. And its not a bunch of parts for 13800, it's a complete figure that is shaded for an extra damaged look with extra parts to be put on another figure for 13,800.
Kinda like how they sold the MB OO Gundam Seven Swords then expected people to shell out another $100 for an O Raiser.

I'm okay with it honestly because the original MB Exia came with parts for RIII and this will make it so you can do RI. It sucks that it will limit which combinations you will be able to display at once due to needing to slap RII parts onto Normal/III and RI is static. But Im still buying the shit out of this.

      Delete
    5. Re the 'Left Arm', I did remove it once or twice from my MB Exia. But it does get 'a little' lose over the few attempts I made. So not sure if this is something you want to do too often.

I think this is a little different to the MB 00 7 swords and the 0 Raiser situation. Because this package is titled/marketed as 'METAL BUILD 1/100 Gundam Exia Repair I & II'. But in fact it only has half of what you need for 'Repair II', if this is the only MB package you purchased.

Where the O Raiser package is a complete pack - Just the O Raiser, oh, and the GN Sword 3 :D

To package product in whatever way is Bandai's call. However, they might want to state clearly (instead of just under some 'fine prints'), that the 'METAL BUILD 1/100 Gundam Exia & Repair III' is required to recreate the Repair II.

      Delete
    6. There's no packaging as of yet. However it is clearly stated right there under the official info.
"Parts to recreated Repair II are included to use on Metal Build Exia and Exia RIII"

      Delete
    7. Hmm that online info definitely is not sufficient. There are lots of shop buyers who don't check these online info, and its quite easy to miss if you don't have time to read these news, or for anyone who can't read Japanese..

It really depend on how that piece of info is placed at. In my opinion it needs to be somewhere obvious. I know most people tend to just pickup the package, look at the pictures, without going through most of the text.

Talk about something slightly different, I wonder if this is the way future Exia related product will be packaged :D

      Delete
    8. What other future Exia products?
They already released MG Exia and RI in one package, MB Exia and RIII in another, MB Exia RI and RII in another, HG Exia, HG Exia RII, RD Exia, RD Exia RI, RD Exia RII...

In the current popular line of Gundam related merchandise, the HG line for OO has been dead, RD probably won't see the RIII release and I doubt Bandai wants to release MG Exia RII and III along side 3.0, ver Ka and RM kits since they're much nicer engineered and redoing the MG Exia just for those two doesnt seem likely until an anniversary.

I'm kinda hoping for a MB QanT with parts to recreate normal and Quantum Burst like rods to hold up the floating pieces and a MB Qanta ELS version. I feel like the Metal Build line would handle the gradient effect better than Master Grades and RD. The RD is a seam filled mess and organic shapes are not MGs biggest strength, we would end up with a lot of seams on the backpack while paying a high price for clear pieces with a gradient effect. Look at the RG Wings of Light for example.

But Metal Build Qant would help balance the weight of the huge ass shield and organic shapes would be better done in the premium line.

Also as the packaging goes for MB Exia RI...there isn't one yet. They might show pictures that you NEED the MB Exia RIII to swap parts. But it'll be Early August to September before they show it so we will have to wait.

    9. I think Cotas is right.

If you see the report from AmiAmi (http://blog.amiami.com/amiblo/2013/06/03.html#) you would notice that they provided the extra parts to convert R3 to R2:

    10. Actually, Cotas, it's only titled here as "METAL BUILD 1/100 Gundam Exia Repair I & II". So far Amiami and Cybergundam only mentioned Gundam Exia Repair - "METAL BUILD ガンダムエクシアリペア". Even those magazine scans only said "Repair" without designating I or II.

  23. Please correct the title/tag on the blog and ggi

It is NOT Exia Repair I/II, it is just Exia R1, with bonus parts for R2 and GN sword II. Almost bought it to make complete set of Exia(MG ignition), R1(MG+ignition part), R2(MB), R3(MB).

But no, you need to buy 3 MB repair(I, 2 IIIs) to make R2 and R3 together. I'd rather go for resin parts for that, not going to spend $500(probably $400 if I sell the extra MB R1) just to get R2 and R3.

Bandai should just make it 14800y like R3 instead of cheaping out that 2ky for the missing left arm.

    Replies
    1. Doubtful, that's the end of the MB Exia unless they decide to do an Exia Avalanche + Dash parts. The Amiami blog touched on it but they said it would cost above what they want MBs to be priced at, similar to the RG kits not including extras such as Wings of Light and both GP 01s in 1 kit.

And the resin kit isn't going to save you money.
There is a RII/RIII Conversion kit that has a sweet folding Gun that's as functional as the Metal Build but its $50 plus about $15 shipping plus $45 for an MG Exia for a total of $110 for a RII OR RIII as you cannot build both from the same conversion kit.

Add time spent fixing the resin kit, snapping and cleaning the plastic kit, paint, decals, top coat and stand and it puts you closer to $130-$150.

Just be glad the RI and RII parts weren't web shop exclusive like the MB OO Raiser and MB O Raiser kit and MB OO Raiser Renewal kits else it would be a lot more.

  24. Greetings everyone, I'm from Venezuela and I made my mind and decided to start building gunpla, right now I'm traveling through USA, a tri-state course between California, Nevada, Utah and the way back; so I would like to know where can I buy model kits, I'm in North Provo, Utah, and I'll be going back through Las Vegas and finishing in Los Angeles, so I'll be really interested if someone could kindly give me info about places where I can buy the model kits in those places, thank you very much for any kind of recommendation
